Thank you for visiting MarkWebsterMedia.com. I am an experienced, versatile freelance media professional, specializing in visual imaging and voice work, utilizing the latest Nikon professional mirrorless bodies and lenses, capable of high-resolution still photography and up to 8K video. Here’s a brief overview of my experience in each of those areas:
Photography has been a lifelong pursuit, dating back to the little plastic roll film camera my parents gave me as a youngster. That led to having my own darkroom and then the thrill of selling my first image to the local newspaper. Over the years, I’ve worked extensively as a photojournalist, including nearly a decade as Research Director at Business First newspaper. Since then, I’ve shot extensively as a full-time freelancer in diverse areas, including sports, photojournalism, weddings and more. That varied experience has made my photographic skills adaptable to any situation.
Videography is second nature to me as well, holding degrees in the field and also having worked five years at WKBW-TV in Buffalo as an Associate Producer and Internet Managing Editor. More recently, I was a freelance camera person and play-by-play announcer for Spectrum Sports Channel Buffalo, until its unfortunate demise. I have experience shooting and editing corporate videos. Photography and videography share many commonalities, but of course many differences as well. Knowing what makes a good still image and what makes for good video is the key, and my experience is invaluable in making the best of both worlds.
Aerial imaging is a more recent addition to my repertoire, and one I thoroughly enjoy as it weds my lifelong interest in aviation with my imaging skills. I’m an FAA-licensed drone pilot and offer that service as part of any relevant photography or videography project.
Voice work is part natural gifts and part experience, and I feel I’m blessed with both. I had my first commercial radio announcing gig before I graduated from college and worked in the business for quite a few years as a DJ and broadcast journalist, most often as a news anchor. Now I work out of a home recording studio, voicing videos and other projects.
On the personal side, I’m a Christian man, thankful for all that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has done for me. That includes blessing me with a wonderful family. Other skills and experiences, in no particular order, include time volunteering as a firefighter/EMT with our local department, speaking passable basic Spanish (a skill developed on mission trips to the Dominican Republic) and a love of music, be it playing it, listening to it or composing it.
Thank you again for looking at my website and God bless!
